1) pull up the itinerary on AA.com or EF and write down the specific fare basis code you want to buy (might be a Y-UP or K-UP or I fare--make sure you have the code of the purchased fare, not the booking class into which it might book, such as A)
But you're going to run into a problem if one of your segments is a "First Special" fare, because most of the time the fare basis code for those fares is the same as an underlying coach fare, but with a special /designator to indicate it's first class. I don't think you can see the designator when booking a ticket. And to add to confusion they may book into P or A, and you can't tell. Best I know is that booking it into A bumps the price a bit higher.
