I made the leap to AA at mid-year. I should have listen to other UA members before the start of the year and jumped earlier. The first 6 months of 2012 with the "new" UA was horrible. I'm glad I made the jump. AA is a world of difference for me. I've tried to fly UA a couple times just to see how they are doing. I'd say marginally better, but not close to AA.

If you are still with UA, I'd be prepared for it to degrade further. I wish I believe those before me, earlier. The difficult part of moving is learning the rules with your new airline, but it's not that bad.
