Laxlaw, welcome to Flyertalk.

I'm curious -- are there more incidents at airports that have a specific airport police force, e.g. LAX, or are they on par with those airports policed by the local municipal force?

I've had one run-in with an airport employee. It was a private quasi-TSO at SFO. I've detailed the incident on FT previously, so I'll just give the short version: I told the quasi-TSO he wasn't following SOP. He responded, "Are you threatening me with not following SOP? I think that's a threat. I think I'll call over a police officer." I'm a lawyer, too, and I don't get bluffed easily, so I said, "Please do. In fact, I insist on it. You just accused me of threatening. Please call a police officer. Right now." Not surprisingly, he backed down very quickly.
