So with the SPG points how does it work? I think I have SPG gold from an amex I have but I have not registered yet. I have 40k Amex points which is 20k SPG. How many SPG does it take to get a half descent hotel room? The 40 k converted to aeroplan would be worth about $800. ( 35 k is about $750 )

I think I will look into this SPG program further. I used to put everything in aeroplan and then deal with Fairmont because the Amex gets all sorts of perks there.
