Good for LAN, they have listened and changed the earning rate for Base Plus fares in Peru to 100% (from the 25% I was complaining about) matching all other countries (except where the Colooombian wags get 150%).

See the table linked above. It now states “Desde el 24 de septiembre de 2012, la familia tarifaria Base Plus en Ruta Nacional Perú pasó de 25% a 100% de acumulación de KMS. LANPASS.”

I have no proof, but my Twitter complaint about this discrimination got several Likes before LAN removed it, my Peru INDECOPI denuncia was proceeding to the administrative stage when LAN USA responded to a DOT complaint giving me the extra miles and promising to fix the website where it “incorrectly” listed 100%, and my discussions with LAN Peru managers where they seemed surprised and embarrassed, all maybe or maybe not, made a difference. Who knows?

Add: By the way, Senor LAN, this change encourages me to up-purchase to Base Plus so you will get more soles from me.
