I thought you did get full miles... the only thing you didnt get is the promotional miles?

You could have kept insisting on AC - but if it was truly sold out (did you actually check, or just believed the agent?) - then what are they supposed to do?

You could have explained the situation to the agent, and asked to be booked in B or Y so you still get status bonus miles.
