No I didn't check the sched but I think the YEG-OGG leaves around 9am so a sameday YYJ connection is not possible. Go for the UA reroute and make sure they ask for E+ (extra 2-4 inches of leg room) if offered on the aircraft - try calling UA once AC has made the changes to the res - who knows it may show as a Full Y fare and be eligible for advance E+ seat assignment, if not eligible make sure they ask in YVR (ask at a UA desk if there is time).
