Transfer Canadian Amex into SPG or Hilton(I'd go SPG).
14k MR transfers into 7K SPG which is a cat 3(tons of properties in US that is cat 3).

7-8k MR gives you a night at a cat 2 for SPG

Way better redemption value than AE into hotel
