The Iraq case has a key word... Temporary..... in any event, current history confirms with a very high degree of certainty that seizure and/or impounding of leased aircraft cannot have any success... all you need to see are the various AR birds that operate flights to the USA on a daily basis.... I mean, the biggest Hedge Funds that have their beef with the defaulted debt are all either US based or have sizeable US operations so where else would they have it easier to seize the planes than the USA....?

The point here is that the US legal system works... so if it would be legal for these birds to be seized, AR would not be flying there..... I dont see whats so hard to understand.

The navy ship issue is different... its not a coincidence that the "creditors" had to go all the way to Ghana to find a court that would take such a "special" legal interpretation of jurisprudence and allow the ship to be held....

Dont get me wrong, I do not approve of the way that Argentina has handled this entire debt holdout thing, and on the international political stage we have done EVERYTHING WRONG and thats way this navy ship got seized.... example, the CIA and the US State Department knew that the funds had been preparing to have the Ghanian legal system seize the ship but did not give the heads up to the Argentine Government because this idiotic K regime doesnt know how to handle international relations.... so this is the end is "our" own fault....
