I don't think it's bad value, but given you can often get sale fares T-T, I'd rather buy one of those and get the SPs and the APD as well instead.
With lounge access and bags I can see the value if you are Jade.
Much less so for G or GE though who already have these benefits, but i guess the 30 or 50% uplift balances that out.
I agree though, it's better to purchase the flight on sale and get the SP and APDs.
