Well I tried calling today, and the automated service did not recognise my number, so got put on general hold for 10 minutes. When I got through to someone, I was told that my account had been cancelled. I asked why, was put on hold. I was told that it was because I hadn't used the account for a while. I said I'd had two SAA flights and two TK flights in the last month, and that my card expiry date was 08/14. I was put on hold. Eventually I was told that my account had been cancelled due to "system control". I was asked to give my name, mobile phone, d.o.b. and home address again and those details would be passed through to System Control and my account would be restored "in a week or so".

I had been struggling enough with TK to credit my two TK flights to my account, which they rejected because I have a middle name in my passport. Goodness knows if I will ever get those credited, if my account is ever restored...

I have to go through the same process to get my partner's account restored, too. I think I'll wait before I start another half-hour call to Turkey...

It isn't the call centre's fault, but to cancel accounts like this without any notice is just bizarre, surely...
