Find a participating mall near you by using the state or city filter. Identify the mall group of the mall where you’d like to shop. Then go to sync.americanexpress.com to find the offer associated with that mall group and load the offer to your card.

These are your run of the mill open value Visa/AMEX gift cards that can be used anywhere. Purchase fee is $2.95-$3.95. They will not have your name on them, so they may be safe to run through your favorite mobile card swiper. The $10 credit will put you ahead even if you decide to cash them through Square or something similar. According to the terms, you only need to purchase a Simon branded gift card, says nothing about the logo, so I'm assuming that the Visa version is also included. Terms also appear to indicate that the transaction is a purchase made at a merchant and not a cash advance.
