I have selected some lengthy connecting segments in order to get to AAdvantage gold for the first time, all of which routings offered in the flight selection process.

I called AA reservations who first said it seemed odd then, after being on hold for some time, told me not to worry - that it would definitely be ticketed - and that it was because the fare was being purchased in ŁUK and there were lots of calculations to do with the taxes etc. I was assured that the fare would not change and I need not worry.

I tried to get a reference for the call - in case I need to refer back to it, should things not be quite as smooth as promised - but it seems this is not possible.

Should I worry?
Most of the times, there won't be issues.

Personally, I do worry until I get an e-mail with my e-ticket and a ticket number. I would call again and ask the agent when you should expect for this to get ticketed. Then call again if not ticketed by the expected date.

Now that Sandy is on its way out, call volume and wait times should not be that bad.
