Will Cathay allow me to check in my bags through to TPE with an overnight connection in HKG even where there are earlier available connections to TPE the same evening I arrive into HKG? I am a BA frequent flyer and know that this is definitely allowed at LHR, but need some guidance here.
Whether or not there are shorter connections isn't relevant. If you're on one itinerary/ticket (and it sounds as though you are) and connection is <24 hours, you should have no problem checking your bags through to TPE.
