Do whatever is cheapest for you. If you do multiple reservations, just be sure to call the hotel and let them know that you have consecutive stays booked. That way, they can pre-emptively block you into the same room for the entire stay. If you don't, they may not notice that someone with the same name has back-to-back reservations and it's a roll of the dice, especially if it's a hotel with high occupancy.
