SFO-LHR has been 1x a 747 in the winter for years. This has nothing to do with the merger. Typically it's 1x747 winter, 2x777 summer. I'm not sure on which day the pmCO plane was on SFO-LHR, but all of the (admittedly somewhat limited) dates I was looking at this summer for SFO-LHR featured only UA planes. It must have been a one-off sub.

So, now, there's simply no compensation for serious flight problems or defects? I'm surprised there hasn't been a more robust conversation about this "change we're going to like" as this is the first I've noticed about it.
They still give out compensation if you write in. There's just not skykits anymore.
