Id find it really weird and strange if AS didnt maintain some combis of some type in the fleet. They make a ton of their money off of inter alaska cargo. Or at least they had in the past. Perhaps with NAC switching over to the same larger sized 737s and Conoco shared services also using 737s has taken away a fair share of the cargo biz for larger items that previously 727s and DC6 and 8s couldnt haul. Along with changing economic times such as DHL going out of business. When I was at DHL we were one of the top 3 AS Cargo clients. Had to hurt when they shut the doors. Also BP was #1 then, but now they also move a lot of their own stuff. And of course US mail volume steadily decreases yearly
