We have had a good run of LH Club and F trips, but a few years back we did an impromptu trip to NY in W. It was tolerable - as you say, much better on a day flight than an overnight.

Earlier this year I had a day flight to YVR in WT+. I was surprised at how fast the service started after take off, and that there was one CC working the whole cabin (so if, as I was, you were on the left of the cabin, you were served quickly, but if on the right, you were in for a long wait). I had to work, so skipped the meal service and had a Plane Food meal. Smaller volume but higher quality, I'd say, on a visual comparison. I never rely on the plane's IFE, so that wasn't an issue, but it was hard to get sufficiently comfortable to have a decent quality nap. I suspect on an overnight I'd be restless.
