It's actually a CRJ. They market it as "direct" and fail to mention that it has 7 refueling stops including 2 in the middle of the atlantic that, under US regulations, would qualify as emergency landings, but under international law, can be marketed as direct since the flight number doesn't change.
Seriously, though ... I can't even figure out what that jet was because it appears that after replacing the 747/777 with what I think was a 767, they now cut the 767 entirely and we're down from 2x/day to 1x/day SFO-LHR. The surviving flight is a 747 as of now.
Not sure how much of this is a response to falling demand, and how much is a capacity reduction, but they're sure serious about not flying with empty seats.

So, now, there's simply no compensation for serious flight problems or defects? I'm surprised there hasn't been a more robust conversation about this "change we're going to like" as this is the first I've noticed about it.
