Every non-Schengen to non-Schengen connection can be done airside, to avoid to have to pass immigration (twice) and customs. And some pax may have visa issues.
All these connections (from T1 or from T2A) could be quicker to do landside, but if I were you, I would avoid the hassle of passport control twice as you never know how busy it could be (could take 5 min or 30-45 min).
