I'm from Appleton, and have stayed at the Paper Valley hotel many times. Definitely one of the nicer properties in the area, great restaurants nearby, lots to do in the downtown area. I would park in the garage - it is cheap and will ensure you do not get towed. The hotel could use a bit of updating - but nothing that would ruin a stay. Whenever NFL teams come to town to play the Packers, they stay at the Radisson and bus up to Green Bay. My recommendation - stay for the brunch if you can.
