It could be a different number of miles based on which program's miles are being used or based on whether or not the award space is available on one of the flights at the traditionally "standard" type of mileage price level.

The OP's got SQ's program listed as their program affiliation -- could well be using SQ miles. And/or it could be an issue of United being a tightwad and not releasing award space using UA miles at the more marketed mileage price level.
