Un/official benefits when flying AC of Silver with another Star Alliance carrier?
What are the benefits, official and unofficial, when flying AC with Silver status from another Alliance carrier? And is this scheduled to change in 2013?

In particular, I am interested in luggage benefits, both Canada-US and transatlantic.

In the case of official benefits, a link to the info on Air Canada would be greatly appreciated.

I could get Silver on Aegean with little effort, but I wish to see if it is worth the bother.
