Good comparison, even if HON status you hold gives LH/LX an unfair advantage in some areas.

Once upon a time ( when BD was alive ) I was bying LH and other *A F over others simply for the miles it gave.

It was the only advantage LH and *A had for me and it was enough to get my money.

After LH decision to kill BD all my spent went to EK, SQ and CX with random bits on AA, BA and QF.

And,at the end, I'm grateful to LH - I'm flying with airlines that I enjoy (well,I don't really enjoy BA,but sometimes there is no choice) and do not worry about miles and all the crap.

And LH - they hope to live on German customers who are flying LH because it's German, few casual flyers and on some corporate contracts.. Well, good luck to them - other airline experiences shown in the past where this mentality will lead.

But LH being LH - they will never learn.
