Given AC's Priority Rewards gave me much more flexibility in finding a flight that fit my schedule, and the scamcharges "only" amounted to ~$350 on this route (vs. ~$300 on the CA/UA/AC/UA/TK combination that was my alternative), I just ended up going with AC.

I would take more cnx to minimize scamcharges.
You can search the availability yourself and then call US.
(Some of the agents aren't very good with geography and I have a feeling that a 14 year old student in India might be better at it than they are.)
