Commencing November 1st, 2001, Canada Customs will be enforcing their new Enhanced Verification Procedures policy. Upon departure from Pearson airport, International/Transborder visiting passengers requesting claims for a rebate of GST paid on eligible goods must be aware of the following new procedures:
prior to check-in with airlines, all receipts must be stamped or validated at the Canada Customs Information counter located on the Arrivals level, Public Concourse in each terminal building
all goods must be available for inspection by a Canada Customs officer
Duty Free facilities no longer provide the availability of tax rebate forms/applications
allow at least 20 additional minutes prior to check-in to carry out this process

International/Transborder visitors may utilize the services of our Concessionaire, Premiere Tax-Free Canada (www.taxfree-services.ca), for the provision of tax claim forms and refund of GST. Display units with application forms and relevant information are located throughout the Departures and Arrivals Public Concourses of the terminals as well as in the vicinity of the Canada Customs Information counter on the Arrivals level.
