I know that some are better than others (Skyteam lounge T4, BA lounges T5) but most airlines aren't in the business of feeding their passengers, either in the air (for shorthaul anyway!), or on the ground.
I find after two short hall flights in C with a visit to the lounge in LBA on departure and the crown lounge in AMS during the stop over I'm neither hungry nor all that sober
