They certainly profile the flights I want to book
A few years ago I was on the phone with an agent to change the date of an award booking. I completed that transaction, and got the typical 'anything else we can do?' So, I inquired about booking the one-way LAX-IAD red eye, that I happened to have up on my screen on AA.com, was about to book online for $129 ... the agent said, 'I see that flight, I can book if for you, there will be a $20 fee for completing this' - I said no thanks, I'll complete it online and hung up.
She must have pushed a button, because before I finished the online booking, aa.com prompted that the original price had changed, the new price was $400. I was steamed.
I searched other websites, found they were still showing $129+fee, I booked it on AMEX travel for that price and paid the $6 AMEX booking fee
Similar price jumps happen for particular flights I look up on aa.com, if they jump the price it takes a few days for it to return to the usual
