The sound quality on a lot of the AC IFE installations is god aweful to begin with. I use Shure IEMs rather than noise cancelling (NC doesn't do much about screaming kids or overly loud conversations, but > 60dB isolation sure does), but the main downside is I can hear every little bit of diginoise that the audio system picks up from the computer system in the seat.
