I may have to cancel a flight that we have booked with Avios and Amex 241.
It's London to Sydney, then return is Hong Kong to London. Booked a separate one way from Cairns to HK with Avios.

I phoned up today to find out how much it would cost to cancel and was told £40 pp for the two bookings, so £160.

Just wondered if there is any way around this? We could go later in the year, but not earlier, but they said that as it was booked in May we have till May to use the flights. Wouldn't be able to use until at least September.

Prepared to pay the £160, but just want to check that's correct and there's nothing else that can be done. Could possibly go a couple of months earlier to a different location (there's so little reward flight availability from London to Sydney) so wondered if it's possibly to change booking to different destination or will that incur fees anyway?
