Mmmm. BahrainLad.... I seem to remember that the 767 allowed BA to fly to the Gulf directly instead of being part of a much longer run to somewhere else..... I remember sitting waiting for hours many times for a late inbound B/A aircraft from ~~Delhi or elsewhere?

I also have () memories of Tristar "Bude bay" having to divert to Larnaca due tech. problems... I was asleep and missed most of the clattering and engine shut-down until the Stewardess woke me up!!!

First 777 flight on a brand new 777 (ZZZE) back in winter 95/96 to Dubai... replacing as you rightly say the 767, tho the 767 remained on the Abu Dhabi run a good while longer...
