I used to do a lot of extra stuff re: the flight, and other fun stuff over CH 9 when I had time. Then it went to the occasional PA if we were flying near something that someone might enjoy, but of course, only if there was no movie playing. Now, I'll do a quick position report if a flight attendant relays a request from a passenger, but that's about all anymore.
I've only removed two passengers from my airplane in the 26+years as a pilot at United. One of them had called me an overpaid bus driver during alcohol-fueled tirade of self-importance. Thankfully he gave me the alcohol excuse, because it might have taken a minute or two longer to find another reason.
That and the F-bomb will get you off of my airplane, guaranteed.
