Not that I've flown with them often or really am ever paying attention, but on the few occasions I've seen kids in there I haven't ever had a memorable (aka bad) experience. I think I'd remember something and nothing seems to stick out.
Thanks for a really informative response, I totally agree with what your saying. Your opinion is very much valued, as with all others posted. I agree that no matter what the source of noise it is well known that it's just bad plane etiquette, if you will. I to have experienced certain situations with 'chatty' cabin crews. Another reason to sit in the middle of the cabin...
