We should not forget that most of the members do simply not have enough miles to buy a C award. BILD is not writing this article for FT members, but for the millions of M&M members that have 10-50000 miles on their account, getting their miles together in a very long and tiring process of flying intra-european Y.

You cannot really call these people stupid. They are flying LH, getting miles for that and they are expecting to be able to use their miles in a reasonable way. BILD is explaining that there is no reasonable way to do this, so the mileage programmes of LH and AB are useless(*).
