Some fair points there, but...

1) I remember back when I were a lad, and redemption tickets were actually free...
2) I have also been gung ho regarding the cost in the past - dread to think what the 2 o/w AF F awards to Singapore cost me and the missus
3) I guess I'm really smarting now it's a case of x5.... That's £200 just to process us through Heathrow and another £700 or so penalty to the government just to get out of the country before I then personally pay* BA to fill up the left wing of the 747 with A1.

* - well that's what it feels like....
