My first day or two of a trip finds me with sore legs and feet after walking all day. It goes away. If your pain went away a day or two later, you'll probably be fine. You can always take some ibuprofen.

Other tips:

- Get good shoes (I love my HiTec Altitudes, stylish leather, waterproof, and good value at $70)
- Break the shoes in before you go. Go to the mall for an afternoon and wear them to work a few days. I haven't had break-in problems on the HiTecs but ya never know.)
- Good socks matter. Smartwool makes the best socks and they last forever. If you wear two pairs of socks, its almost impossible to get blisters.
- I love my Superfeet insoles even if I don't understand either how they work or how they can cost over $25!
- Avoid crappy shoes. Flip-flops don't give any support. I've tooled around on them all day and sore feet were the reward. My Reefs do a bit better and my Chaco's were nice but a bit heavy.

Don't forget to stop and have a beer sometimes - let your feet relax too!
