Awesome reviews from all the folks on Amazon too. Tough as nails.
I had the Swissgear Potomac, a smaller version of the Patriot, for several years. They're basically the same except the Potomac is missing the separate file section. I used it for several years before I decided it just did not work well. It was heavy, the clothing section too small for anything over two nights, and did not always fit under the seats when I arrived last minute. It's also not checkpoint friendly, although it does come with a decent sleeve that I still use from time to time.
I've since gone wheel-less with an Eagle Creek Conor back pack and been more than satisfied. It's lighter, carries as much if not more, is checkpoint friendly, and always fits under seats. If I need to carry more, I go to my eBags Weekender TLS convertible.
I do like the looks of the Skooba and agree that a checkpoint friendly bag is nice to have.
