We went during National week, not my first choice, but it was the only time we were free. Booked 2 weeks in advance through Ctrip. We stayed at Grand Jiuzhaigou, about 10 minutes walk from the park. It wasn't a great hotel but was reasonably priced.

Traffic was absolutely horrible during that week so it was faster to walk than drive to the park.
