This is absolute crap.

Regardless of country or culture, the hotel should be a safe, welcoming and warm environment. Afterall, we book global chain hotels for these service standards.

I lost count of how many times I've had to argue with hotels in Egypt that my partner and I booked a King room on purpose, and no we don't want two beds.

Your friend was the subject of a slur because he was local. Completely unacceptable behaviour, and in an international chain hotel this needs to be addressed, for the dignity of your friend, and future guests.

I would expect the employee to get a talking to, and some form of compensation in the form of GP points, and an apology from the property.

As for 'two normal people interacting...' What the hell is normal? You mean not acting gay? And whenever is a gay slut 'warranted'?
