Through flight generally refers to two legs that are flown by the same aircraft. So a DFW-VCE flight on the same plane that made an intermediate stop at LHR would be a "through flight." By this definition, you flights are not through flights. But that's irrelevant to your question. As long as you're connection is a legal connection, you'll be protected, even if you booked your flights on two separate tickets.
