I've never flown Garuda either, but those guys constantly bombard us with TV ads featuring their new business class, and it looks damn nice! If I were you, I'd try that on the way down (they don't advertise their Y product, so I have no basis upon which to endorse it), and MH/AirAsia on the way back. When traveling around Asia, I try to avoid connections at all costs.
