I've been aware for a while that I'm 6125 tier miles shy of gold renewal at the end of my membership year on Oct 31st but wasn't worried as I had a trip scheduled DXB - SIN this week that would cover the shortfall.

I've just had that trip postponed until November meaning that I either need to do a mileage run or find another way of keeping my Gold Card

Does anyone have any success stories of getting Gold renewed when not quite at target with EK??

Failing that, what's the chepest way of earning 6125 tier miles this weekend?
the best I can find so far is DXB - IAH in flex Economy for 6300 AED
