Its based on your billing address and since Euro CC do not use address in the billing. There is no challenge.

Why do you need to change your address in your AA account?
You can input your (fake?
) US address for CC at the payment.
AA.com allows to use non-registered CC for buying ticket on AA.com.
My registered address on AA.com is non-US.
But I always use my credit cards issued in US on AA.com(and by phone with AA US agents) without any issues.
I believe registered address in AAdvantage account needs not to be same as the address of credit cards for payments.
