Unfortunately, fuel surcharges are becoming a monkey business that all airlines are doing to milk customers as much as possible.
They want to give you the seat free but they still want to get from the customer anything in exchange. So practically you are not getting the seat for free but you are paying for it indirectly
I strongly believe that government agencies should stop them from doing that and also fine them if they keep ripping off customers in that manner.
