OT-A Solution to Airport Security Madness
After experiencing the dreaded fifth bag inspection at LHR the other day, and realizing that two weeks of traveling the USA and enduring the TSA was actually more pleasant than the T5 experience, I've had a thought, (my wife would say that there is a first time for everything.)
Why not implement one of two solutions to the current silliness.
1. Simply ban carrying on anything larger than an i-Pad, and all non-medically necessary liquids. No bags, period.
2. Create a two-track bag drop. If you want to have items onboard, they tag your bags to be screened separately and delivered to you on the jet bridge like duty free. Security remains just a body scanner and tablets/smartphones in a tray.
I have a lovely set of Tumi luggage that I'm sure would be destroyed under such a setup, but I don't care anymore. Let's stop the madness!
