OK, it was the lawn or T&C.....
The KC T&C have already been updated on the changes to restrict lounge access as follows, and I note that GAS standby fares are also ineligible for KC access. When did that change I wonder as it is news to me?
5.4 Access to Koru Lounges is subject to the following additional conditions:
(a) Members must present their Card and a valid Air.New.Zealand boarding pass or ticket for an Air.New.Zealand ticketed and operated flight on that day which has not yet departed from that airport terminal.
(b) Access to the Lounge is not permitted when travelling on a grabaseat standby fare. Please refer to grabaseat terms and conditions for full grabaseat domestic standby fares Terms and Conditions.
(c) From 5 November 2012, access to Koru Lounges is not permitted when travelling on late-night domestic services NZ498 ex Auckland or NZ499 ex Wellington.
(d) Access to unstaffed Koru Regional Lounges is provided at check-in. Members will receive, upon presentation of their Card at check-in, an authority with the appropriate daily keypad code allowing access to the lounge.

An additional Guest may be accommodated upon presentation of a valid pre-purchased Annual Guest Card (valid for one Guest) or upon payment of a cover fee on the day from that lounge, together with a valid Air.New.Zealand boarding pass or ticket for an Air.New.Zealand ticketed and operated flight on that day which has not yet departed from that airport terminal.
