As I expected, the return flight was a bit troubled. Though I thought it would be because of weather, cause it was scheduled for 3:10pm and october afternoons may be rainy in Cusco.
But yesterday it was sunny until we depart. I learned LIM was just partly cloudy too.
I arrived at 1pm and I was the 2nd at the line. Only a french couple before me. Then I entered the Vip Lounge Cusco, while I was checking (wifi) the LIM departures, and saw the Peruvian Airlines LIM-CUZ flight (220) scheduled for 1:30pm (my plane). At 1pm status was in "Llamada" (Calling), not boarding yet.
1:50pm It was still in Llamada, at the LIM webpage. So the plane wouldn't arrive at 2:30pm to Cusco as expected. So I went to the counter but they didn't know too much. They only told me the plane from Lima was delayed and they were waiting for more info.
The LIM departures webpage didn't change the status for flight 220, until 2:35pm, not for boarding but.. it just dissapeared!! Did they cancel the flight? Did it already depart? Who knows. So I went again to the counter. (it was 2:35pm) and she confirmed the airplane was on the way and it will arrive at 3:30pm. But there was no info at the CUZ screens. It was only at 2:50pm screens showed flight 220 arriving at 3:30pm, and so it did.
So we finally depart at 4:12pm, arriving at Lima at 5:12pm. The flight was expected to be bumpy but it was very little bumpy.
Not a huge delay, but anyway neither the captain nor the attendants apologize for the delay when we were boarding (unlike other airlines).
This airplane did have inflight magazines in the seats. Good articles, but I found something weird: lot of typo errors, grammar errors. They looked as those paragraph translated with the Google tool, not perfect. Other mistakes looked as typo errors. The magazine does not contain the airline info (you know, itineraries, maps, fleet, etc.).
So we arrived at Lim alive

, the airplane does not reach the terminal, (same as the LIM-CUZ flight), it doesn't use jet bridge so it stops outdoors and we wait for the bus. Well, actually we wait for the stairs, the attendant opened the door and she was screaming "TRAEME OTRA! TRAEME OTRAA!!"
bring me another one! bring me another one! . Apparently the first stair was not enough tall, or unstable, I don't know. But we wait around 20 minutes to get off the plane!!! First time my baggage is waiting for me at the claim area and not viceversa.
Good things:
- Since there are few PA flights, the counter check-in or baggage drop is fast. (there were 21 LAN CUZ-LIM yesterday, imagine the line at the counters!)
- No penalties for flight changes.
- The snack was fine (sandwich and cake). At least better than LAN domestic flights (cookie and chocoteja). Well at least for me.
Bad Things:
- Probability of delays are higher than LAN (Peruvian use only 7 airplanes for all routes, in november they'll add 3 more).
- They don't give you enough info, but that's a common attitude in all airlines.
- Attendants are kind, but they should apologize for delays. Yesterday they were as if nothing had happened. Though one hour is not big deal, it's just about respect. And the final episode with the stairs and the screams was ridiculous. And it actually added more delay time.
- Inflight magazine has good articles but it needs better quality control.
Tip: As they told me, try to choose the earliest flights.
