Air Canada is the only N.American Star Alliance airline that charges their top tier members a fee for same day standby.

Stop nickle & diming your best customers already! I even know of one case where the check-in agent waived the standby fee, but management learned of this and intercepted the poor passenger at the gate... demanding the standby fee be paid before boarding! Can you imagine how cheap and petty this behavior is to your best customers??

So for those attending the Ottawa DO... please petition that Air Canada finally dumps this stupid fee for top tier members... and rightly aligns this company with their Star Alliance peers.
