If you have a family (like I do), one of the biggest annoyances with family car rentals is that minivans are so freakin' expensive. Often more than twice the cost of a full size car. I won't pay that premium, so what I usually do is reserve a regular car and hope they give me something bigger off the lot. This works most of the time, especially with National's Emerald Aisle.

So imagine my amazement today when I search Alamo for an early November rental at FLL. I put in my "Insiders" code (15% off right now) and the minivan pops up as the cheapest car class of all of them! It wasn't dirt cheap, about $28, but since it also allowed a coupon code to be attached (I'm using a $50 off from Discover America), the rate became extremely attractive.

I assume this is just a random glitch, but give it a try if you're looking for a minivan.
