actually its in your interest to do the work, its alot easier when its smack in front of you as are the other options then it is hearing them read out to you.
I always try and do it myself so that I see all my options and can decide which works best for me. Sometimes it will throw something out I didnt think was possible or there is a flight/s that have better timings or will leave later but have less of a layover and get me in earlier.Then theres seeing which flights will yield me the most EQMs or which have the type of plane I prefer
Id NEVER expect any agent to do all of this for me especially if there are so many options involved, no matter how much I was charged! The same holds for if I think I can score a Bump, I do my homework and by having done so was able to get out that same night w/o having to sleep over as the agent told me Id have to

not the same , but I would most certainly if I was gonna buy tkts to a concert or game 1st checkout what was available before calling, I want to see each date to determine which date offers me a better seat.
I highly doubt youd find any agent that will do Everything you are asking for and will simply after a few trys tell you "thats all thats available" and how will you know they arent lying to You.So you will chose the best of what they mentioned not knowing you had a much better selection to chose from
